There is only one way to start fashion week and that is with a dam good party, and we had two with our names on them; V.I.P of course. First up was the launch of the BMW new 7 Series in conjunction with VOGUE. Spinning our wheels with great excitement between Yasmin and I on ‘what to wear’ we VOGUED IT in two beautiful evening dresses by Trelise Cooper and Danny in tow looking fly in Michael Pattison, who showed for the first time at Air New Zealand’s Fashion Week 08.

On arrival we took our places, myself behind the camera to shoot the red carpet while Yasmin and Danny mixed their drinks with Celebes and industry folk as the room filled to the tune of Love is a battle and other disco tunes by one very glam female DJ. Under the spotlights was one very classy lady the BMW 7 Series holding her own as the Statement on Style, while around the room the walls exposed black and white negative images of fashion.

After two hours of networking and kissing both cheeks (as you do at fashion week) we were photographed as much as I photographed, it was crazy, the mother and daughter team was a hit and winning formula was Dress to Impress! In the crowd was the Editor in Chief for the Italian Edition of Vogue; Franca Sozzani and Director of Design BMW Cars, Adrian van Hooydonk responsible for the design of the latest BMW 7 Series. Other Celebrities were Helen Christistian and Dakota Fanning.

Moving on with two Australians we yellow cabbed it up to the New York Models Party! A slightly younger and better looking crowed filled the three levels of a very funky cool club/bar/ pool/sauna of sorts! Amongst the beautiful faces was the every so sexy Tyson, heaps of models and fashion editors, stylists and more Very Important Fashion People!!! By 11.30pm my jet lag was starting to kick in Yasmin was surrounded by handsome young men and Danny had become Tyson’s best friend, time to call it a night, Day one begins in less than 10 hours and we have a massive week ahead and as many after parties as there are fashion shows.
