Hi, Im Yasmin; the girl on the right and the daughter of Amanda Bransgrove Director of Catwalk Studios.
Being Amanda's daughter definitely has its privileges, and now I'm at the age where i have proven i can 'lend a hand' she totally keeps me busy.
This past Air New Zealand Fashion week she completely threw me into the deep-end by having me photoshop and resize some New Zealand Shows and the remainder of her New York images then email up to www.fashionwirepress.com
(major hours on the computer but Im totally honed on my Photoshop skills.
I also got the opportunity to photograph a number of fashion shows down on the Viaduct Harbor!
The first show was Cebele. I was completely freaked knowing I hadn't a clue how to operate my Mum's SONY camera and all the photographers looked so serious, and probably twice my age. It was so scary, 'I had to balance myself on top of a camera box and keep the camera steady on the mono pod while zoom in and out on the models walking down the run way.' It was a massive adrenaline rush.
Even though I was shitting my pants trying not to fall I still had the biggest grin on my face. Walking off the Photographers pitt with a smile up to my ears is probably a moment I will never forget.
As for the after-parties, boy did i burn my self out. Arriving home at 3 am every morning with a 7 am wake up call probably wasn't the best idea (Mum had no idea...she was jet lagged and in bed by nine...Boring). But man did the parties go off! out of the eight I went to (did I say eight!) the Stolen Girlfriends after party was probably the best.
The place was packed out. From what I remember there was probably about 800 people. It was definitely an awesome night.
But what was the best ever then is about to get unreal. I'm on my way to New York in February to assist Mum at Bryant Park in NYC!!!! I am to be media room image processor, and PA. I could even get to photograph one or two of the shows. Its definitely going to be crazy.
The anticipation and excitement that surges through my body should be illegal! i don't know how prepared to be for the madness that awaits me but Its definitely an opportunity of a life time, one and that dreams are made of.
