CATWALK STUDIOS ON QUEST TO EMPOWER YOUNG NEW ZEALAND TEENAGERS

Amanda Bransgrove’s name is synonymous with High Fashion in New Zealand.

Founder of Catwalk Studios, Amanda is a former top model with the prestigious Ford model agency in New York, and subsequently enjoyed a varied and successful career as a make-up artist, fashion show coordinator/choreographer, fashion stylist, and photographer spanning over twenty- four years.

On her return to New Zealand, Amanda graduated with honors from Unitec's Bachelor of Design, winning Metro Magazines Photographer of the Year in 2003.

Amanda opened Catwalk Studios in 2004 to train and develop young people entering the New Zealand fashion Industry to international standards, focusing on confidence, style and professionalism. Amanda finds, trains and develops many of New Zealand’s most successful models and has coordinated and designed numerous prestigious fashion shows over the last 20 years.

Currently Amanda is the only New Zealand photographer invited to photograph the pinnacle event of the international fashion industry: New York Fashion Week

Amanda had been travelling to New York twice a year to photograph Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for www.lucire.com and www.fashionwirepress.com, allowing her to make valuable international contacts while keeping abreast of the current trends in the fast-paced fashion and modeling industries.

Consequently, Amanda is able to provide an invaluable insiders view, guidance and support through the doors of Catwalk Studios, in 2009 CWS became an accredited program educator in Fashion Retail and Fashion Photography, gearing students into work experience and providing options to further education for fashion industry throughout the secondary school system in Auckland. With a focus in encouraging  students aged 17-18 years to understand the dynamics of New Zealand’s Fashion Retail customer services.
